KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Universal Health
Services, Inc. (NYSE: UHS) announced today that a tentative agreement has been
reached with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) representing
certain nurses and technicians at its Valley Hospital Medical Center and
Desert Springs Medical Center located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Under the terms of the tentative agreement, the SEIU agreed not to strike
for at least the next 70 days and they agreed that they would not retaliate
against nurses and technicians that came to work to care for patients. UHS
agreed to continue to abide by our policy of nondiscrimination against members
of the SEIU. The parties agreed to work together over the next 60 days,
however there can be no assurance that a contract will be ratified during that
timeframe.
